Hurricane Gustav

scared
music: "Better" -- Regina Spektor
I know that I don't post on here that much and all, but I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate all that does read my entries and talks to me on here.
I am probably not going to be able to come on here for quite some time. I live in South Louisiana and we have Hurricane Gustav coming straight for my area. We are praying that it would disappear or break up, but it really doesn't seem like that is going to happen. Right at this moment it is a Category 4 and is lacking 5mph to be a Cat. 5. We, unfortunately, cannot leave because we have absolutely no place to go. All of the hotels/motels are fully booked all the way up until Arkansas (not only due to the hurricane but also Labor Day weekend). It really picked a "great" time to come through.
For anyone that reads this and is going to go through it, I wish you the best. I am so scared right now. After going through Hurricane Rita, I cannot imagine how scary this one will be.
I just wanted to let you all know, and I hope to be back on here in the future!
Love,
Alison

Why can't i walk down a street free of suggestion?
Is my body the only trait in the eye's of men?
I've got some skin
You want to look in
There lays no reward in what you discover
You spent yourself watching me suffer
Suffer you words, suffer your eyes, suffer your hands
Suffer your interpretation of what it is to be a man
I've got some skin
You want to look in
She does nothing to deserve it
He only wants to observe it
We sit back like they taught us
We keep quiet like they taught us
He just wants to prove it
She does nothing to remove it
We don't want anyone to mind us
So we play the roles that they assigned us
She does nothing to conceal it
He touches her 'cause he wants to feel it
We blame her for being there
But we are all guilty

If I could be another person for the day, I would be Veve LaRoux of the New Orleans Bingo! Show, or just one of their Bingo Mistresses in general. I would just love to go out there on stage in those amazing costumes and dance with strangers. Live totally vicariously! And...I would love to be the keeper of the "ding-ding"!
